Rollin Shelton

Rollin is a Research Associate at the Regional Research Institute (RRI) at Portland State University. He has been working in the field of Disability Studies for the past 17 years. The primary emphasis of his work has been on the development of programmatic innovations and support services augmentation and enhancements, delivered in peer-run community-based disability services organization, to support individuals who experience a disability to live as independently in the community as possible. Partnering with Mary Oschwald, and others at RRI, he was engaged in the development and field-testing of each of the Women’s and Men’s Safer and Stronger Programs, computer-based abuse awareness, abuse prevention, and safety-planning tools, which have now been integrated, as a cornerstone component, of the new interpersonal violence programmatic work that is Our Lives.
