Director, Crime Victims with Disabilities Project and Safety and Sexual Violence Prevention Project; Partners for Inclusive Communities; Arkansas University Center on Disabilities; University of Arkansas.
Roberta first became active in the violence and abuse field in 1998, and became actively aware almost immediately of the lack of direct and meaningful interface between violence and abuse victim services and disability services providers. Since that time, she has been actively involved in state and national efforts which address the critical issues of preventing violence in the lives of people with disabilities and providing access to services for victims of crime. She has served on national task forces dealing with services delivery system needs for individuals who experience a disability and who are also victims of interpersonal violence as well as system planning and services design system planning bodies that focus on the same issue. As part of her work, she routinely provides training and technical assistance to both professionals and individuals who experience a disability.
